Analysis of virome in the feces of overwintering nocturnal Corvus sp.in Xining
The fresh feces of Corvus frugilegus,Corvus macrorhynchos and Corvus corone in the urban area of Xining is taken as the experimental materials to investigate the background situation of the vi-rus carried by the overwintering nocturnal Corvus sp.population in Xining.Virome omics sequencing technology is adopted to reveal the composition, abundance and genetic function of fecal virus of Cor-vus sp.The results show that a total of 7 411 DNA virus contigs and 224 RNA virus contigs are identified. The top 10 DNA virus contigs are annotated into 9 viral families, while the top 5 RNA vi-rus contigs are annotated into 4 viral families, covering viruses and phages from plant,vertebrate,ar-thropod and protozoa orgins.A total of 9 226 genes and 111 genes are predicted for DNA virus contigs and RNA virus contigs respectively. The top 5 functional categories with the highest number of genes are genetic information processing, replication and repair, signal conduction and cellular process, nucleotide metabolism and amino acid metabolism respectively. The research results can provide basic data reference for in-depth exploration of virus evolution and cross species transmission patterns.
