Annealing process for reducing explosive dents on the surface of aluminum alloy strips
Explosive dent is a common surface defect on the aluminum alloy strip of the oil cooler tube plate. This defect affects the appearance and may even cause material deforma-tion,increase assembly gaps, and thus affect the quality of brazing. In the heat treatment process of complete recrystallization of aluminum alloy strip, adding a low-temperature hold-ing stage can improve the oil removal effect, thereby preventing the rolling oil on the surface of the aluminum strip from expanding in a local enclosed space during the high-temperature stage, which will result in explosive effects and the formation of explosive dents. The experi-mental results show that holding at 200 ℃ for 210 minutes can eliminate most of the rolling oil on the surface of the aluminum strip. Then the strip coil is heated up to above the recrys-tallization temperature for annealing.Three coils were observed in the subsequent slitting process, and the results show that although there are slight explosive dents,of which the number significantly decreases, and those leading to deformation on the surface of the alumi-num strip have disappeared.
