Comparison of hot bending and cold bending of 5B02 aluminum alloy tube
The tubes used in aircraft can be bent with straight pipes. To explore the per-formance of 5B02 aluminum alloy tubes,5B02 aluminum alloy tubes with diameter of 30 mm and wall thickness of 1 mm were selected for cold bending and hot bending, and the macro-scopic morphology, microstructure and microhardness of the tubes produced with the two processes were analyzed. The results show that folds appear on the surface of the cold-formed tube.A well-formed tube can be obtained by hot bending for 30 s' heating.Micro-cracks occur in the tube during hot bending and the surface cracks expand to form holes after contin-uous heating.Large remelting spheres, thickened remelting grain boundaries and triangular grain boundaries appear in the microstructures of continuously heated tubes after superhea-ting,which are typical overburnt structures. The hot-formed tube is harder than the cold-formed tube.
