Study on the mechanism of delamination and discoloration in the cross-section of 6082 aluminum alloy rolled sheet
In response to the delamination and discoloration phenomenon of the cross-sec-tion(RD-ND surface)of 6082T6 aluminum alloy sheet after corrosion, the microstructure and mechanical properties of different areas of the cross-section(RD-ND surface)were stud-ied by means of metallographic microscope, scanning electron microscope, and microhard-ness tester. The results show that after corrosion, the surface, subsurface, and central layers exhibit varying shades of light and dark.Due to the small area black pits formed on the sur-face and central layers after corrosion, the roughness is lower than that of the subsurface,re-sulting in a higher mirror reflectivity.Compared with the subsurface layer, the tensile strength of the central layer slightly decreases, and the elongation after fracture significantly increases. This is because the central layer has larger elongated grain sizes and fewer second phase particles.
