Study on homogenizing annealing system of high-alloying Al-8Zn-2Mg-2Cu aluminum alloy
High-alloying Al-8Zn-2Mg-2Cu aluminum alloy was investigated with different single-stage homogenizing annealing systems. An ideal system was obtained by analyzing the evolution laws of the second phase and eutectic structure.Structure analysis show that the second phase is mainly the layered T(AlZnMgCu)phase and the Al2CuMg phase coexisting with T(AlZnMgCu)between the layers. The overburning temperature is 476 ℃.Different single-stage homogenizing annealing were conducted at 465 ℃,470 ℃,and 475 ℃,re-spectively.The results indicate that it is difficult to completely eliminate the eutectic struc-ture at the overburning temperature. The resulted ideal system is 475 ℃96 h,in which the residual amount of the second phase is minimum, the morphology is smooth, and the volume fraction of the eutectic structure is the lowest at 0.5%.
