Analysis on internal structure of roll-casting stock of 8079 aluminum alloy light-gauge foil
The phases,grain morphology of the roll-casting stock of 8079 aluminum alloy light-gauge foil produced by twin-roll continuous casting,and the center segregation of cast-rolling stock at different casting speeds were analyzed by OMand EPMA.The optimal range of cast-rolling speed control was determined.The results show that there are significant differences in the phases and metallographic structure between the surface layer and the cen-ter layer of the roll-casting stock.Al-Fe binary and Al-Fe-Si ternary dispersoids exist in the roll-casting stock.When the cast-rolling speed reaches more than 827 mm/min,the internal structure is obviously deteriorated,and the center segregation appears near the center of the strip thickness.Taking into account the product quality and production efficiency,the optimal cast-rolling speed of the roll-casting stock of 8079 aluminum alloy light-gauge foil is 810-820 mm/min.
