Effect of homogenization annealing on microstructure and properties of hot-rolled 2A12 aluminum alloy plate
In order to reduce the cost of hot rolling process of as-cast 2A12 aluminum al-loy,the effects of homogenization annealing process on microstructure and mechanical prop-erties of hot-rolled 2A12 aluminum alloy were studied.The results show that the as-cast 2A12 aluminum alloy has serious segregation.Homogenization annealing can effectively im-prove the microstructure segregation,reduce the stress concentration at the grain boundary,lower the risk of cracks at the grain boundary,and improve the strength of the ingot.Howev-er,the homogenization annealing process is easy to cause a large amount of strengthening el-ements at the grain boundary of the ingot to dissolve back,and the grain boundary strengthe-ning phase is reduced,resulting in a slight decrease in the mechanical properties and an in-creasing corrosion resistance of the hot-rolled plate.
