Review of the influence of expressway construction in ecologically sensitive areas on wetland water system connectivity
Water system connectivity is an essential index to measure the structural and functional integrity of wetland ecosystems, and it is of great significance for maintaining the stability of wetland ecosystems.Highway con-struction will affect the exchange of material and energy in the wetland and the migration of organisms, thus destro-ying the stability of the wetland ecosystem. This Review systematically expounds on the influence of longitudinal highways, structural form, and subgrade filling methods on water system connectivity in highway construction. It summarizes forward corresponding guarantee measures to maintain the stability of the wetland ecosystem.
