Analysis of bus lines and passenger flow characteristics in the main urban area of Xining city
To investigate the operational status and service quality of public transportation in the main urban ar-ea of Xining,an analysis was conducted on the characteristics of bus passenger flow to identify current issues and propose improvement measures.Based on survey data from public bus routes in the central urban area,12 repre-sentative bus routes were selected for analysis.Information on route mileage, average speed, and passenger flow at stops was collected through field measurements and ride-along surveys.By examining the characteristics of the bus routes, temporal distribution of passenger flow at stops, and spatial distribution of the routes, the current operation-al conditions of the public transport system in Xining were analyzed. The results show that bus speeds in the main urban area of Xining are relatively slow, there is a significant difference in passenger flow between peak and off-peak periods, and passenger flow is concentrated in commercial areas.Based on these findings, targeted strategies for improving and optimizing bus routes were proposed.
