Assessment of carbon emission reduction benefits of solid waste utilization in highway engineering construction during construction period based on life cycle assessment
The resource utilization of solid waste in highway engineering can effectively solve the problem of demolition waste disposal of existing road facilities,and at the same time replace the expensive graded gravel as the regenerated aggregate of the cement stabilization layer to save the cost of engineering construction,and has good en-vironmental,economic and social benefits.In order to reasonably quantify the carbon emission reduction benefits of highway engineering construction solid waste utilization during the construction period,the LCA life cycle assess-ment method was used to carry out carbon emission reduction accounting and evaluation of highway engineering con-struction solid waste utilization,which provided data support for the promotion and application of technology and auxiliary highway engineering scheme comparison and decision-making,and provided a certain content supple-ment for the carbon emission accounting and measurement work of the highway industry.The results show that the resource utilization technology of construction solid waste has significant carbon reduction benefits,and the carbon emission reduction contribution rate of construction solid waste recycling scheme is up to 20.43%,the carbon emis-sion reduction rate of construction solid waste of 1 t highway engineering is 12.54 kgCO2e,and the carbon emission reduction contribution rate of 1 t construction solid waste is 27.35%.In the raw material production stage of con-struction solid waste recycling,the sorting and crushing of construction solid waste recycling aggregates should focus on the selection of crushing equipment;Carbon emission reduction in the material transportation stage is greatly af-fected by the transportation distance,and the site selection of the construction solid waste treatment plant should be determined in combination with the actual engineering needs and route planning requirements.The equipment process involving high carbon emissions during the on-site construction phase can be further optimized.
