Coal gangue is a waste product selected during the mining and washing processes of coal, and the large accumulation of coal gangue increases environmental burden.Currently, there are few research results on using coal gangue powder as a filler to modify asphalt mixtures at home and abroad, and the improvement effect on the performance of asphalt mixtures remains to be further explored. Therefore, this study investigates the properties of coal gangue pow-der/talc fiber composite modified asphalt mixtures to clarify their applicability and effectiveness. The results show that coal gangue powder can effectively improve the temperature sensitivity of asphalt binder, hinder the movement of molecu-lar chain segments in asphalt, and increase the glass transition temperature of asphalt binder. The combined use of coal gangue powder and talc fiber further reduces the temperature sensitivity of coal gangue powder-modified asphalt binder, significantly improving its high-temperature performance and shear strength. This research is of great sig-nificance for enhancing the resource utilization of coal gangue and talc fiber in road engineering.
