Breeding for Multiple Fetal Traits in Tibetan Sheep:Genetic Basis,Application of Molecular Markers and Future Development Strategies
In this paper, the genetic basis of multiple fetal traits in Tibetan sheep, the application of molecular markers in sheep breeding, and the development direction of breeding strategies in the future are discussed. The effects of FecB gene on the breeding of multifetal sheep and the research progress of coding and non-coding Rnas related to sheep reproduction are reviewed. The application of molecular marker-assisted selection in improving multiple litter fertility are analyzed, especially the case study of FecB gene polymorphism in Kazakh sheep, and the potential and challenges of genetic modification technology in sheep molecular design breeding. In addition, the importance of integrating traditional and molecular breeding methods, the role of multiple fetal traits in the conservation of sheep genetic resources, the discovery of new molecular markers and advances in genetic modification techniques are discussed. Finally, suggestions for future research and application are put forward, emphasizing the importance of interaction between environmental factors and genetic factors, and calling for the protection and sustainable use of genetic resources to be considered in the breeding process.
