Analysis of Precipitation Characteristics in Qinghai Plateau Based on M-K Test
Using the precipitation data of 49 meteorological stations in Qinghai Province from 1961 to 2018,the Qinghai Province was divided into three regions, and the temporal and spatial variation characteristics of precipitation were analyzed by employing univariate and multivariate Mann-Kendall test methods. The results indicate that from 1961 to 2018,the average annual precipitation generally showed a rising trend. The spatial distribution of the annual average precipitation, the annual average precipitation days and the annual maximum precipitation of event were basically consistent, showing a decreasing trend from southeast to northwest. The highest values of the three were all in headwater region of Yellow River, eastern Qilian Mountains, eastern Qinghai Province and eastern Sanjiangyuan region, followed by the central and western Sanjiangyuan region, the lowest located in Qaidam Basin. The overall upward trend in average annual precipitation was mainly caused by the significant increase in precipitation in Region I(Qaidam Basin and Qilian Mountains)and Region III(Sanjiangyuan region),while changes in precipitation in Region II(eastern Qinghai Province)was not significantly. The combined application of univariate and multivariate M-K trend analysis methods can simultaneously consider the trend changes of each component in the overall sequence, thereby drawing more reliable and accurate conclusions. The results can provide important references for further understanding the precipitation characteristics, developing and utilizing precipitation resources of the Qinghai Plateau reasonably.
