Analysis of Humidity Variation Characteristics of Saishiteng Mountain in Lenghu
Using the relative humidity and vapor pressure data from three automatic stations located at the summit,mid-slope,and base of Saisiteng Mountain in Lenghu from December 2021 to November 2022,and by employing mathematical and statistical methods, this article compares and analyzes the characteristics of humidity variation at the Lenghu Saisiteng Mountain astronomical site and its impact on the selection and activities of astronomical observations. The results show that the overall change trend of humidity at the three stations of Saishiteng Mountain is consistent, with a negative correlation between relative humidity and water vapor pressure. The summit station has the largest annual average relative humidity and a larger daily variation. The base station has the largest annual average water vapor pressure with a smaller daily variation. The relative humidity and water vapor pressure changes are more pronounced in spring and summer at all three stations, while the daily variation is smaller in autumn and winter.Compared to the other stations, the summit station has the highest relative humidity each month, and the base station has the lowest;conversely, the base station has the highest water vapor pressure, and the summit station has the lowest. In summary, the humidity variations at Saishiteng Mountain are beneficial for astronomical data observation and have certain reference value for the assessment of the operational stability of astronomical observation equipment's mechanical structure and the accuracy of telescope pointing precision.
