From the"Others"to the"Nationals":A Study on the Image Changes of Dan People in the Republic of China——Based on the Analysis of Newspapers and Periodicals in the Republic of China
Under the influence of new ideological trends and new media,the image description of the Dan people during the Republic of China period took on a new look.The extensive original documentation in the newspapers and magazines of the Republic of China has proven that during this period,the image of the Dan people underwent a transformation from traditional to new.The depiction of new images of the Dan people in newspapers and magazines clears up the chaotic ethnic legends of the Dan people from a narrative mode,highlights their patriotic and professional national concept from an ideological perspective,and emphasizes their diligence and simplicity from a moral perspective,thus shaping the Dan people as the"citizens"of the Republic of China.The emergence of such a situation is the result of the joint creation of the intellectual elites under the thinking of the times,which objectively promoted the historical process of the integration of the Dan people into the community for the Chinese nation.
