The epic Gesar,which is co-created,shared,and passed down by multiple ethnic groups,is an example of mutual understanding,mutual appreciation,mutual respect,and mutual learning among different ethnic groups in the formation and development of Chinese national community.It vividly demonstrates the mutual influence between minority ethnic literature,the influence of Han ethnic literature on minority ethnic literature,and the influence of minority ethnic literature on Han ethnic literature.It has unique academic value and practical significance for a profound understanding and recognition of the community of shared destiny of the Chinese nation.After the establishment of the People's Republic of China,the research team composed of scholars from different ethnic backgrounds collects and studies the epic Gesar not only as a model for implementing the Party's ethnic and literary policies,but also as a vivid practice of consolidating the sense of community for the Chinese nation.We should objectively describe the history and reality of the exchange and integration of multiple ethnic groups presented in the dissemination of the epic Gesar,scientifically interpret its characteristics and laws,provide important support and inspiration for the theoretical construction of consolidating the sense of community for the Chinese nation,and fully utilize digital humanities technology to bring the epic Gesar into the lives of people from various ethnic groups in China in a multi-modal form,becoming a cultural symbol shared by the Chinese nation,and effectively promoting the practical work of consolidating the sense of community for the Chinese nation to develop in depth.
