Research Progress on the Metabolism of Phenylethanolamine Glycosides and Their Related Metabolic Genes in Medicinal Plant
Phenylethanoid glycosides were identified as one of the main components in various plants, and over 200 types of phenylethanoid glycoside compounds were isolated from multiple medicinal plants. The pharmaceutical industry recognizes these compounds as crucial active ingredients, exhibiting diverse pharma-cological functions such as liver protection, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, antioxidant effects, and myocardial protection.A comprehensive review of phenylethanolamine metabolism pathways and the associated enzyme genes in plants were presented in this study. The aim was to investigate the biological functions of phenylethanolamine metabolism-related enzyme genes and gain a deeper understanding of their regulatory effects on the accumulation of phenylethanolamine metabolites, while also providing a scientific ref-erence for the accumulation and regulation of phenylethanol glycosides.
