Analysis of the Factors Affecting the Application of Estrus Synchronization Technique in Mutton Sheep in Alpine Pastoral Area
In order to improve the application level of techniques such as synchronized estrus and artificial in-semination of meat sheep in alpine pastoral areas, and improve the production efficiency of meat sheep,360 meat sheep were selected from the Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous County Breeding and Breeding Research Institute. Two groups A and B were designed to be treated during the breeding season and non breeding season.Within each group,60 ewes aged 8~12 months,60 ewes aged 18 months, and 60 ewes aged 24~42 months were randomly se-lected and divided into six experimental groups for analysis of factors affecting synchronized estrus. The results showed that in the non breeding season and breeding season of meat sheep in the alpine pastoral area, the synchro-nous estrus rates of the participating ewes were 74.44%and 90%,respectively.The synchronous estrus rates of the participating ewes of different ages during the non breeding season were 78.33%,80.83%,and 87.50%,re-spectively.The synchronous estrus rates during the breeding season were 88.33%,83.33%,and 93.33%,re-spectively.The synchronous estrus rates of the participating ewes were mainly concentrated within 24 hours to 48 hours after treatment, accounting for 52.22%and 61.66%,followed by 48 hours to 72 hours,The proportion is 16.11%and 21.66%respectively.The experiment shows that applying and promoting synchronized estrus and ar-tificial insemination techniques in the breeding of meat sheep in alpine pastoral areas, mastering the influencing factors such as the breeding season of meat sheep, the age of ewes, and the concentration time of synchronized es-trus,can improve the production efficiency of meat sheep.
