Effect of Acidic Protease on the Egg Laying Performance,Egg Quality,Antioxidant Capacity, and Immune Function of Laying Hens
The aim of this experiment is to investigate the effects of acidic protease on the egg laying perform-ance,egg quality, antioxidant capacity, and immune function of laying hens.A total of 600 Beijing Red laying hens, aged 900 days and forced to molt for 30 days, were randomly divided into 4 groups, with 6 replicates in each group and 25 hens in each replicate. The control group was fed with basic feed, while experimental groups I,II,and III were supplemented with 250 g/t,500 g/t,and 750 g/t acid protease in the feed, respectively. The pre tri-al period and the main trial period are 1 week and 6 weeks, respectively. The results showed that compared with the control group, the egg production rate of experimental group II significantly increased(P<0.05),while the feed to egg ratio and egg breakage rate significantly decreased(P<0.05);The eggshell thickness,Hartmann u-nits,and eggshell strength of experimental groups II and III were significantly increased(P<0.05);The serum levels of IgM,IgG,and GSH Px in three experimental groups of laying hens were significantly increased(P<0.05).In summary, adding an appropriate amount of acidic protease to the feed can improve the egg laying per-formance and quality of laying hens,as well as enhance their immune performance and antioxidant capacity. The recommended dosage is 500 g/t.
