The properties of aluminum foam-filled rectangular galvanized steel tube under static compression was studied by 94 test schemes. The analysis of test results shows that the aluminum foam-filled rectangular galvanized steel tube goes through the elastic stage and yield platform stage in the static compression process. Its average crushing load, ultimate crushing load and energy absorption capacity increase along with the increased relative density of aluminum foam and the increased thickness of steel tubes, but with a relatively little effect of the component length and particularly almost no change to the average crushing load, and the ultimate crushing load decreases slightly with the increase of component length. At the same time, the test results are com-pared with the theoretical formula, which demonstrate that the two values are in good agreement.
