Application of oxalate controlled precipitation technology to alumina production from imported bauxite
In the process of producing alumina through high concentration one-stage precipitation using low-temperature Bayer process, the continuous accumulation of oxalate in the process until saturation precipitation has a significant impact on the control of seed precipitation process and product quality. This paper investigates the effect of changes in oxalate content of crystal seeds on nucleation during the precipitation process of high concentration crystal seeds using low-temperature Bayer process. The oxalate control agent(OCA)is innovatively used to promote the independent spherical precipitation of oxalate within the seed system, thereby eliminating the impact of high oxalate content on the production process and product quality. We studied the func-tion and effects of oxalate control agents on different cycles of seed precipitation, and obtained a mature technology for oxalate independent balling during the seed precipitation process.
