Objective:To observe the effect of different position modified catheter removal methods on the clinical treatment effect of pa-tients after cesarean section. Methods:A total of 160 patients with cesarean section treated from December 1,2021 to October 31,2022 were selected as the study objects, and were divided into observation group and control group with 80 patients in each group according to random number table method. Both groups were treated with modified catheter extraction method, the control group was chosen the lying position, and the observation group chose the squatting position. The incidence of urinary retention, success rate of catheter removal and clinical re-covery time were compared between the two groups. The pain scores of patients at the time of catheter removal and the first urination were evaluated with the Behavioral Pain Scale(BPS).The quality of life of patients was evaluated with the Quality of Life Scale(QOL)on the day of admission and one day before discharge. Results:The incidence of urinary retention in observation group was lower than that in con-trol group(P<0.05),the success rate of extubation was higher than that of control group(P<0.05),the clinical recovery time was shorter than control group(P<0.05).The BPS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group at extubation and first urina-tion(P<0.05).One day before discharge,QOL scores in both groups were higher than those on admission day(P<0.05),and observation group was higher than control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The modified squatting catheter pulling method can alleviate the pain of cesare-an section patients during catheter pulling, reduce the incidence of urinary retention, improve the success rate of catheter pulling, and im-prove the quality of life.
