Sinicization of the Couple's Illness Communication Scale and the Test of Its Reliability and Validity in Cancer Population
Objective:To develop the Chinese version of Couple′s Illness Communication Scale(CICS)and the test its reliability and va-lidity in cancer patients.Methods:Obtaining permission from the developer,the scale was translated,back-translated and culturally adapted to form a preliminary Chinese version of the CICS.From April to July 2022,180 couples of cancer patients in a tertiary Grade A hospital in Jinan were conveniently selected as the research objects to conduct an investigation and evaluate the reliability and validity of the scale.Results:The Chinese version of CICS is divided into two versions,patient version and spouse version,both of which include one dimension and four entries.Both the scale-level content validity index and the item-level content validity index in patient version and spouse version were 1.Exploratory factor analysis extracted one common factor,with cumulative variance contribution rates of 74.102%and 63.750%,re-spectively.The Cronbach′s α coefficients of the total amount table were 0.883 and 0.807,the retest reliability was 0.915 and 0.927,re-spectively.The intimacy satisfaction questionnaire was used as the benchmark,with correlation coefficients of 0.767 and 0.698,respective-ly.Conclusion:The CICS has good reliability and validity,is concise and effective,and can evaluate the disease communication level be-tween couples of cancer patients in China.
