Comparison of the Effect of Intravitreal Injection of Anti-VEGF and Laser Therapy in Elderly Patients with Diabetic Macular Edema
Objective:To compare the effect of intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF and laser therapy in elderly patients with diabetic macular edema. Methods:A total of 91 DME patients who received treatment from June 1,2021 to June 1,2022 were selected and divided into control group(45 cases)and study group(46 cases)according to the different treatment methods. The patients in the two groups were given the same nursing care, the patients in the control group were treated with retinal grating photocoagulation therapy, and the study group was given intravitreal injection of anti-VEGF therapy. The BCVA,CFT,anxiety status and quality of life of the patients were compared be-tween the two groups before and after the treatment. Results:The scores of BCVA,CFT and STAT were lower after 6 months of treatment than those before treatment(P<0.05,P<0.01),and the scores in the study group were lower than the control group(P<0.01).After 6 months of treatment, the CLVQOL scores in both groups were higher than the scores before treatment(P<0.05,P<0.01),and the scores in the study group were higher than the control group(P<0.05,P<0.01).Conclusion:Compared with laser therapy alone, intravitreal injec-tion of anti-VEGF has a good effect on elderly DME patients, which can effectively subside macular edema, improve patients' vision, help alleviate patients' anxiety and thus improve patients' quality of life.
