Effect of Nurse Led Discharge Plan on Patients Undergoing Gastric Cancer Surgery
Objective:To explore the effect of nurse led discharge plans on patients undergoing gastric cancer surgery.Methods:Conven-ience sampling was used to select 200 gastric cancer patients who met the inclusion criteria and visited a medical institution in Shandong Province as the research subjects. They were randomly divided into control group and experimental group, with 100 cases in each group,u-sing a random number table method. The control group received routine perioperative nursing measures, while the experimental group re-ceived full management based on a nurse led discharge plan in addition to the control group. The intervention effects were compared be-tween two groups. Results:The experimental group had higher scores in terms of discharge readiness and overall quality of discharge guid-ance compared to the control group(P<0.01).One month after discharge, the quality of life and self-care ability scores of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The hospitalization time of the experimental group was shorter than that of the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion:The nurse led discharge plan applied to patients undergoing gastric cancer surgery can improve their preparation for discharge and the quality of discharge guidance, enhance their self-care ability and quality of life after discharge, reduce the average length of hospital stay.
