This paper summarized the types of polymers for modification of asphalt and n-ative research status from key indicators and performance testing of the asphalt pavement(espe-cially in cold regions).The types of polymers used for modifying asphalt are mainly divided into rubber and synthetic plastics.Categorized by rubber modifiers,plastic modifiers and multi-component composite modifier,this paper presented the latest research achievement that water resistance,high temperature performance and low temperature performance of the asphalt mix-tures could achieve,which was aimed to provide assistance to the research work of fraternity.
