Analysis and Suggestions on Corrosion of the Upper Wall of the Fractionation Tower in A Delayed Coking Unit
Delayed coking is a petroleum secondary processing technology that can handle low-quality raw materials with high residual carbon and metal content, improving the yield and decarbonization efficiency of light oil.During the production and operation of a delayed coking unit in a certain refinery, there was a leak on the upper wall of the fractionator.During the shutdown and maintenance period, corrosion inspection was conducted on the interior of the equipment. The corrosion reasons were analyzed from the aspects of ultrasonic thickness measurement, design factors, operational factors, and corrosion factors, and relevant suggestions were proposed to avoid such problems from happening again, ensure long-term stable and safe operation of the device, and provide strong assistance for similar problems of the same device.
