Research on In-services Welding Evaluation Method for Pipelines based on Hydrogen Induced Crack Control
During the operation of in-service pipelines, welding repairs are required for leakage accidents caused by corrosion, mechanical damage, and third-party construction.Hydrogen cracking is one of the main problems in-srevices welding of high grade pipelines. The common practice is to control the welding materials hydrogen content,HAZ hardness, and welding stress to prevent hydrogen induced crack. On the basis of analyzing the factors affecting the quality of in-service pipeline welding, the paper introduces the research progress on preventing hydrogen induced cracks in in-service pipeline welding abroad.By using numerical simulation to consider pipeline and welding process parameters, the relationship between heat input, cooling rate, and weld hardness value is quantitatively analyzed.A prediction model for hydrogen induced crack diffusion and delayed cracking is developed. The research results are of great significance for ensuring the welding quality of in-service pipeline.
