Application of New Anticorrosive Materials in Special Environments
Owing to the flammable and explosive characteristics of the medium conveyed by oil and gas pipelines, once the pipeline undergoes corrosion perforation,it may result in catastrophic accidents. Thus, the safety issue has gained increasing attention. How to inhibit and retard the corrosion of metal pipelines, especially in special environments, through new materials, new technologies, new processes, and new equipment has become a significant topic in the pipeline anti-corrosion industry. This paper presents the long-term application effects of the new anti-corrosion materials, namely viscoelastic and pressure-sensitive heat shrinkable tape,in special environments through certain specific engineering cases, demonstrating that the viscoelastic and pressure-sensitive heat shrinkable tape have excellent long-term sealing and anti-corrosion effects on metal pipelines in special environments such as saline-alkali land, seaside tidal flats, and tunnels, and especially suitable for the anticorrosion repair of in-service pipelines.
