Application of Standardized Nursing Quality Control Pathway in Achieving Surgical Instrument Cleaning Standards in Central Sterilization and Supply Departments
Objective:To analyze the effectiveness of a standardized nursing quality control pathway(SNQCP)in achieving cleaning standards for surgical instruments in central sterilization and supply departments(CSSDs).Methods:A total of 550 surgical instruments subjected to conventional cleaning protocols in the CSSD of Shaxian District General Hospital from January to December 2021 were designated as Group A.Another 550 surgical instruments that underwent the SNQCP in the CSSD from January to December 2022 were classified as Group B.The interventional outcomes, including improvements in instrument appearance post-cleaning,the rate of cleaning compliance, and the proportion of surgeries complicated by instrument-related infections, were compared between the two groups. Results:Compared with Group A,Group B demonstrated a lower inci-dence of blood stains, rust spots, and dirt residues post-cleaning,alongside a higher rate of cleaning compli-ance and a reduced proportion of infections attributable to instruments.Statistical significance was observed across these parameters(P<0.05).Conclusion:The implementation of an SNQCP ensures the cleaning qual-ity of surgical instruments in CSSDs,enhances their appearance, raises the compliance rate with cleaning stand-ards,and decreases infection rates. It is a practice worthy of wider adoption.
