Anthropologic analysis on five tongue moving types of Hongyao and Panyao in Guizhou
Objective:To explore the relationship between the Pan Yao and Hong Yao ethnic groups in Guizhou Province, and to enrich and accumulate anthropological and population genetics research data. Methods:Using random whole-group sam-pling method,206 individuals from the Hong Yao ethnic group in Guizhou Province were surveyed, including 112 males and 94 fe-males,and 189 individuals from the Pan Yao ethnic group were surveyed, including 108 males and 81 females.Five types of tongue movements were investigated, including rolling, folding, flipping, pointed, and clover-leaf tongues. Results:The rate of rolling tongue in Hong Yao was 62.14%,the rate of folding tongue was 9.22%,the rate of turning tongue was 19.90%,the rate of pointed tongue was 62.14%,and the rate of three-leaf tongue was 3.40%.The rate of rolling tongue in Pan Yao was 58.73%,the rate of folding tongue was 9.52%,the rate of turning tongue was 25.40%,the rate of pointed tongue was 59.79%,and the rate of three-leaf tongue was 1.59%.There was no significant difference in the incidence of the five types of tongue movements between males and females in the Hongyao and Panyao ethnic groups in Guizhou.Compared with other ethnic groups at home and abroad, the rate of pointed tongue and three-lobed tongue in Guizhou Hongyao and Pan Yao is relatively low,the rate of rolling tongue is medium to low,the rate of turning tongue is medium, and the rate of overlapping tongue is medium to high. Conclusion:There is no gene interaction between the tongue movement types of Guizhou Hong Yao and Pan Yao;Cluster analysis shows that the genetic relationship between the Hong Yao,Pan Yao,Han people in Guizhou, and the Han people in Ziy-ang,Sichuan is the closest. The Hong Yao and Pan Yao in Guizhou are closely related to the southern ethnic groups, but distant from the northern ethnic groups.
