Nuclear fusion releases immense energy and holds potential as a sustainable energy source,as it does not produce greenhouse gases or high-level radioactive waste.In the United States,commercial nuclear fusion is advancing rapidly,supported by the government,industry,national laboratories,and private capital,and is progressing swiftly toward the stage of commercial deployment.The development of the U.S.nuclear fusion industry demonstrates that the combination of government funding,technological innovation,and market-driven capital can effectively drive breakthroughs in clean energy technologies.China should learn from relevant experiences such as prioritizing strategic research and roadmap planning,fostering close collaboration among government,industry,academia,and research institutions,accelerating industrialization through technological advancements,and leveraging the catalytic role of private capital offer valuable insights for similar initiatives.
