The Reform of the Eight Banners of Chahar during the Yongzheng Period and Its Influence
The main stage of the formation of the multi-element tribal structure of Eight Banners of Chahar in the Qing Dynasty was the periods of Kangxi,Yongzheng and Qianlong.During the Yongzheng period,the Qing Dynasty carried out a series of reforms on the Eight Banners system,including standardizing the system of counting adult male of Chahar,checking the population,adjusting the structure of niru and other measures.This paper mainly makes use of the Manchu archives combined with relevant historical materials,and focuses on the following issues around the reform of the Eight Banners of Chahar during the Yongzheng Period:First,the measures taken by the Qing Dynasty to regulate system of counting adult male in the Eight Banners of Chahar;Second,by the records of archives,the paper analyzes the population composition of Chahar,the Eight Banners of the Yongzheng Dynasty,and reveals its complex formation process;Third,this paper researches on the issues such as the supplement and adjustment of niru in the Eight Banners of Chahar during the 10th year of Yongzheng's reign.
