Analysis of spatiotemporal characteristics of short-term heavy rainfall in Jilin Province
This article uses hourly precipitation data from 51 national surface meteorological observation stations in Jilin Province from April to October from 1994 to 2023.By analyzing the temporal and spatial scales of short-term heavy rainfall,the spatiotemporal distribution characteristics and variation patterns of short-term heavy rainfall in Jilin Province are revealed.The results show that from 1994 to 2023,the frequency of short-term heavy rainfall showed a trend of first decreasing and then increasing.May to September is the concentrated period of short-term heavy rainfall in Jilin Province,with the highest frequency occurring from July to August.The earliest occurrence of short-term heavy rainfall was around May 15th,and the latest occurred around September 10th.The daily variation of precipitation presents a bimodal structure.The spatial distribution of precipitation is uneven.The research results are expected to provide climatic background for short-term heavy rainfall forecast and provide reference for forecasting and early warning services.
