Comparison of sounding data between GTS1-2 and GTS13 radiosondes in Sanya
In order to understand the differences in observation data caused by the replacement of radiosondes, this article uses methods such as variance analysis and multiple comparisons to quantitatively compare the temperature, relative humidity, and interlayer thickness of two radiosondes,GTS1-2(old type)and GTS13(new type),on the 925 hPa to 500 hPa isobaric surface during the parallel observation period of Sanya radiosondes in 2020.The results show that the temperature difference between the two radiosondes on different prescribed isobaric surfaces has homogeneity of variance, indicating that the two radiosondes have good temperature stability. The relative humidity difference between the two radiosondes on different prescribed isobaric surfaces has good homogeneity of variance, indicating that the two radiosondes have good humidity measurement stability. The interlayer thickness difference between the two radiosondes on different prescribed isobaric surfaces does not have homogeneity of variance, indicating poor stability in interlayer thickness measurement. However, the two instruments have good consistency in interlayer thickness measurement results. The research results can provide support for the homogenization of data before and after the replacement of the Sanya radiosondes, and further improve the quality of sounding observations.
