Normative localization refers to local actors'active construction of foreign ideas,so that foreign ideas are consistent with local ideas and habits. The Sinicization and modernization of Marxism is a process of normative localization, which depends on three conditions, namely, the scientificity of the Marxist theory, the strong vitality of the Chinese culture, and local actors with firm beliefs. From the perspective of normative localization, the process of Sinicization and modernization of Marxism can be divided into three stages:the local dissemination of foreign norms(1917-1927),the internalization and reflection of foreign norms(1927-1945),and the local construction of foreign norms(since 1945).Explaining the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism from the perspective of normative localization contributes to strengthening theoretical self-confidence.Building a more universal interpretation framework for the Sinicization and modernization of Marxism is helpful to tell Chinese stories.
