Ecological Factors and Economic Growth in Minority-concentrated Provincial-level Regions:Analysis of Endogenous Growth Model Based on Resource and Environmental Constraints
How resources and the environment affect economic development is an important theoretical issue to promote harmony between humans and nature. This paper introduces the stock of natural resources and environmental quality as ecological factors in the production function and utility function and constructs an endogenous growth model including the ecological sector to theoretically analyze the ecological factor promotion mechanism and path of balanced economic growth. It uses the 2001-2021 data of minority-concentrated provincial-level regions for testing. The results are as follows.Firstly, when the per capita human capital accumulation efficiency exceeds the time discount rate, the growth rate of per capita resource usage slows down, which helps protect the environment and reduce the consumption of natural resources.Secondly, under the constraints of resources and environment, innovation and human capital are the main sources of economic growth.Thirdly, there is a positive relationship between environmental pollution intensity and economic growth, indicating that the relationship between environmental quality and economic aggregate in minority-concentrated provincial-level regions is still on the left side of the Kuznets curve. Finally, ecological elements can significantly promote the economic growth of minority-concentrated provincial-level regions, and investment in R&D is the main channel through which ecological elements produce economic effects.
