The Coordination and Mechanisms of the Development of Higher Vocational Education and Rural Revitalization in Guangdong Province
This paper utilizes municipal panel data from Guangdong Province, spanning 2013 to 2022,to empirically investigate the coordinated development of higher vocational education and rural revitalization and to elucidate the corresponding coordination mechanisms. The study reveals three key findings:(1)The degree of coupling and coordination between higher vocational education and rural revitalization in Guangdong has been steadily increasing, with the coupling type shifting from barely coordinated to primarily coordinated;(2)Spatial pattern analysis indicates divergent coupling coordination both between and within regions in Guang-dong.The Pearl River Delta(PRD)region shows well-adapted development, while Jiangmen and Huizhou ex-hibit significant deviations from the core area's coupling degree.Additionally, the ecological development area in northern Guangdong demonstrates a relatively low coupling level, contradicting its functional role in modern agricultural development;(3)Further analysis identifies that economic development, rural e-com-merce,and regional innovation environments collectively enhance the coupling coordination between local and neighboring areas.Conversely, optimization of industrial structures impedes this coordination, and the direct and indirect effects of urban inclusiveness and market structure are oppositional. Therefore, relevant depart-ments should synchronize the development of professional and industrial clusters for rural revitalization,en-sure balanced inter-regional and intra-regional coupling coordination, and align regional development policies and environments to foster synergy.
