Effects of High Intensity Aerobic Interval Training on Physical Fitness of Obese Male College Students
During the 12 weeks of high-intensity aerobic interval training intervention for obese male college students,the change in body shape indexes(height,weight,waist-to-hip ratio,body mass index(BMI),body fat mass,etc.),body function indexes(resting heart rate,vital capacity,1000 meters running),physical fit-ness indexes(pull-up,seated forward bend,standing long jump,50 meters running),and carbohydrate-lipid metabolism related indexes(four items of blood lipids,fasting blood glucose(FBG)and fasting serum insulin(FIN))before and after the intervention were compared.The results show all the above mentioned indexes in-cluding serum triglyceride(TG),serum total cholesterol(TC),serum low density lipoprotein(LDL-C)and fast-ing serum insulin(FIN)were significantly improved(P<0.05).Conclusion:12-week high intensity aerobic in-terval training intervention can improve the body shape,body function and body quality of obese male college students,prevent and cure the disorder of glucose and lipid metabolism,and promote the physical health level of obese male college students.
