In the value system of industrial heritage,adaptive development and preservation are the main directions of current research.The historical genetic attributes of industrial heritage,namely uniqueness and universality,have a significant impact on the direction of adaptive development.The delineation of material and non-material relationships within industrial heritage sites requires investigation through methods such as historical literature and interviews;and based on this,defining relevant values to ana-lyze the social elements that need to be actively adapted to in the context of times changes.Taking the case of the research on Yuanhetang industrial heritage as an example,this article explores how to achieve contemporary value transformation and adaptive development while preserving industrial heritage.
