Against the backdrop of vigorously implementing the"14th Five Year Plan"for tourism devel-opment and building the"Maritime Silk Road Culture",overseas Chinese have increasingly frequent and close exchanges with their motherland.Root-seeking tourism of overseas Chinese has become a hot topic in the domestic tourism industry,especially in the cultural tourism of overseas Chinese towns.Based on the theory of tourist gaze,this paper introduces the"Perception Element"into the field of overseas Chi-nese culture,and selects the overseas Chinese culture in Quanzhou as the object of perception.Through in-depth interviews and text analysis,14 initial constructs,14 connecting constructs and 11 final constructs were extracted by applying Zaltman Metaphor Elicitation Technique(ZMET)and word frequency analy-sis,and their consensus logical chains were identified accordingly.Building upon these findings,the paper constructs a consensus map of overseas Chinese tourists to the overseas Chinese culture perception ele-ments and probes into the new measures of the publicity of overseas Chinese cultural elements in South Fujian.
