Characteristics of Ormosia boluoensis community in Xiangtou Shan,Guangdong Province
The Ormosia boluoensis is one of the second-class protected plants in China, previous field records indicate that its habitat is narrow, and the population size is small. The rediscovery of O.boluoensis population in Huizhou provides a new basis for further study of this species by revealing the habitat requirements of mini-mal population. In this paper, the method of field investigation and quadrat survey was used to set quadrat in the new distribution site of O.boluoensis.The results showed that in the new distribution site, trees were the domi-nant layer,Machilus thunbergii was the dominant species in the community, and O.boluoensis was not domi-nant in the community.Age-class analysis showed that the sufficient number of O.boluoensis individuals at the seedling stage of this population had strong renewal ability. It is recommended to strengthen management mea-sures to reduce the possible interference to the population.
