Analysis of Hydrophytic Native Plant Resources and Their Floristic Characteristics in South China
In recent years, the problem of unreasonable exploitation and utilization of wetlands has become in-creasingly serious, and the general facial understanding of wetlands has accelerated the destruction of wetlands.Native hygrophytes can better adapt to local environments,so selecting adequate native hygrophytes is possibly the key way to restore degraded wetlands. In this paper, the florae and their floristic characteristics in South China were analyzed by reviewing e-Floras and literature,to provide the basis for the utilization of native florae in South China and the restoration of wetland ecosystems. The results are as follows:(1)South China was rich in native hygrophyte resources, with 128 families,430 genera, and 1080 species;Angiosperms accounted for more than 95%of the total species of wetland plants in South China, which were the main component in the whole area.(2)Herbaceous plants were the dominant species in South China, accounting for 88.7%(959 spp.)of the total.(3)The floristic types were complex, and tropical components were dominant; At the family level, the native hygrophytes in South China were mainly tropic-distributed families. At the genus level, the pantropi-cal flora was high in proportion and has a variety of temperate components.
