The Evaluation of Heavy Metals in Sediment of Pond-to-mangrove Region in Dongzhaigang
Through analyzing the quantity of Cr,Cu,Zn,Cd,Ph,As,and Hg in sediments collected from differ-ent pond-to-mangrove ecological restoration areas in Dongzhaigang and the surface of the nearby natural man-groves,we probed the distribution of the heavy metals and its pollution characteristics, and evaluated the pollu-tion level and potential ecological risks. The results showed that the content of heavy metals in the sediments in the research areas was qualified as Grade Ⅰ of Marine Sediment Quality, except Cr.In terms of pollution index, the overall pollution level was low(the composite index of each plot<5),within which the single index of Cr was slightly higher than the other heavy metals. In terms of geo-accumulation index, the areas had not been polluted by heavy metals. In terms of comprehensive potential ecological risk index, the pollution risk of the heavy metals in the sediments in each area was categorized into light degree, with the index significantly lower than 150.This study could provide basic data and a theoretical basis for further ecological restoration assessment.
