Status of Forest Fires and Fire Management Measures
Fire is one of the major disturbances in forests,and once it occurs it is very difficult to extinguish.It has serious impacts on global forest ecosystems,the atmosphere,and socio-economics.Therefore,this study briefly introduced the characteristics of forest fires and summarised the current status of forest fire prevention and the main measures for fire prevention and fire fighting.Finally,it suggested strengthening publicity and ed-ucation,stockpiling fire prevention materials,formulating emergency plans,and enhancing the professionalism of rescue teams.Meanwhile,improving the effectiveness of forest fire prevention is also important for the protec-tion of forestry resources and the promotion of sustainable social development.
