Study on the Physiological Characteristics of Trifolium pratense
In this study, susceptible and non-susceptible Trifolium pratense leaves were used as experimental materials. The soluble protein contents of the two kinds of leaves were determined by the Coomassie blue stain-ing and the ultraviolet absorption spectrophotometry, and the malondialdehyde(MDA)contents were also deter-mined.It was shown that the results of the two soluble protein determination experimental methods were basi-cally consistent. The soluble protein content of non-susceptible leaves(39.98 mg/g)was higher than that of sus-ceptible leaves. The MDA content of susceptible leaves was lower than that of non-susceptible leaves,indicat-ing that the non-susceptible leaves were more tolerant and resistant to rust. Therefore, this study lays a physio-logical foundation for the utilization of disease-resistant resources and the cultivation of new disease-resistant varieties.
