Preliminary Study on Natural Vegetation Restoration of Abandoned Mines in Sanya
Nine abandoned mines in Sanya were selected as the objects to investigate the vegetation coverage and species richness under natural vegetation restoration and to analyze the plant composition and distribution differences. The results showed the vegetation coverage development was positive, with the canopy density of the arbor layer between 0.25 and 0.80 and the species richness between 3.67 and 5.88.Species with higher impor-tant values in the tree layer were Acacia auriculiformis,Microcos paniculata, and Leucaena leucocephala, and there were differences in the distribution of tree species in different mines. At present, the effect of vegetation coverage by natural restoration in abandoned mines is great, however, due to the soil, water, restoration time, and site conditions, vegetation succession structure has not reached stability.
