Effect of Combination of Bauhinia Variegata L Sawdust and Pennisetum Giganteum Chips on the Growth of Two Edible Fungi
Researching the effects of combining Bauhinia variegata L sawdust with Pennisetum giganteum chips on the mycelial growth, bioconversion rate, and quality of Dictyophora rubrovolvata and Ganoderma lucidum, this study aims to provide scientific evidence for their application in edible mushroom cultivation. The investigation found that adding P.giganteus chips and B.variegata L sawdust to the culture medium positively influences the growth of both mushrooms. In solid spawn media, adding 50~60 mL/L of P.giganteus extract for P.rubicundus and 40~50 mL/L for G.lucidum enhances mycelial growth rates to 1.4~1.6 and 10.7~10.1 mm/day,respectively.When combined in specific ratios after fermentation,P.giganteus chips and B.variegata L sawdust can be used for cultivating D.rubrovolvata and G.lucidum spawn and fruiting bags.Optimal ratios for D.rubrovolvata are 40:30 and 50:20,resulting in growth rates of 2.1 and 1.9 mm/day,respectively,while for G.lucidum, they are 20:50 and 30:40,leading to growth rates of 5.9 and 6.6 mm/day.For D.rubrovolvata, treatments with a ratio of 40:30 and 50:20 achieve bioconversion rates of 36.8%and 41.6%,surpassing the control, with higher contents of crude protein and polysaccharides in the fruit bodies. For G.lucidum, the 20:50 and 30:40 ratios result in bioconversion rates of 76.3%and 68.4%,also exceeding the control, with increased crude protein and polysaccharide levels.Consequently, these research findings offer valuable insights into the application of P.giganteus chips and B.variegata L sawdust in edible mushroom cultivation, guiding industry development and expansion of raw material sources.
