The Effects of Different Irrigation Methods on Corn Growth and Soil Quality
In order to study the effects of different irrigation methods on corn growth and soil quality,In 2023,three treatments of furrow irrigation, surface drip irrigation and subsurface drip irrigation were set up in Xinzheng City, aimed to investigate the impacts of these irrigation methods on the accumulation of dry matter in corn, yield and soil physical and chemical properties. The results showed that there were significant differences in corn growth and soil physical and chemical properties among different irrigation treatments.Corn under subsurface drip irrigation had notably higher accumulation of dry matter, yield and levels of available phosphorus, available potassium and capillary porosity compared to the other treatments. The yield was higher than that of furrow irrigation and surface irrigation by 14.33%and 9.98%,and the soil bulk density decreased significantly. Therefore, subsurface drip irrigation is more suitable for local irrigation.
