Detection of Mancozeb and its Metabolite Ethylene Thiourea Residues in Tropical Fruits
A method for determination the mancozeb and its metabolite ethylene thiourea residues in tropical fruits such as bananas, mangoes, and pineapples was established.Mancozeb was determined using Gas chromatography with electron capture detection(GC-ECD),while ethylene thiourea residues were determined using Ultra performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS/MS).The results show that the limit of quantification for both mancozeb and ethylene thiourea is 0.01 mg/kg.At three fortification levels of 0.1,0.5,and 2 mg/kg,the average recovery rates of mancozeb and ethylene thiourea were 73%~101%and 82%~103%,respectively.This method meets the detection requirements for Mancozeb and its metabolite ethylene thiourea residues in tropical fruits.
